A Mirror Unto Nature: The Printed Art of Natural History

The exhibition traces the advancements which took place in botanical and ornithological illustrated art between the sixteenth and the nineteenth centuries. The exhibition consists of prints, oil paintings, rare books, Egyptian steles, and cylinder seals, which are all part of the Museum's collection not previously exhibited. Chamber music of the fifteenth through the nineteenth centuries accompany the exhibition, since music, like art, has also been influenced by nature.
