Branding the American West: Paintings and Films 1900-1950
This traveling exhibition is a collaboration between the BYU Museum of Art and the Stark Museum of Art in Orange, Texas. The exhibition presents a unique examination of twentieth-century images of the American West as seen through the eyes of the members of the Taos Society of Artists and the California-based artist Maynard Dixon, and through films of the era.
"Branding the American West: Paintings and Films, 1900 – 1950," is organized by the Brigham Young University Museum of Art and the Stark Museum of Art, and made possible in part by generous grants from the Nelda C. and H.J.
