Label TextSharp painted a winter view of barren trees and scruffy bushes. Yet the artist found unity in the blending of sky with landscape and harmony in the limited range of color. This seemingly commonplace landscape was personally significant to the artist. He wrote on the back, “From my cabin back yard/ Crow Agency, Montana.” The artist had built a log cabin so that he could live on the Crow Indian reservation. He wanted to live near the subjects of his art. In his Montana work, he found success. After he left Montana, he reminisced about the “happy years” in the cabin.
