Label TextThe Invocation stands near the entrance of the Stark Museum of Art. This monumental sculpture portrays a Plains Indian lifting a buffalo skull in prayer. He asks for the preservation of his people. According to the artist, the sculpture also shows "the moment when human aspiration soars and we rise above our daily lives."
