Label TextThe glow of a fire in a fireplace signals home for many people and is often a focal point in an interior space. The fire supplies warmth and light. Couse painted this work in New Mexico in the early twentieth century when wood-burning fires were a necessity. In the homes of today, open fireplaces are not efficient, consistent sources of heat and light. Yet, are fireplaces still important for contemporary interior spaces?
