Label TextBlumenschein depicts the labor of Hispanic workers in Plasterers of Taos. The composition of his painting seems casual, like a snapshot. Yet the artist carefully composed the scene with linear patterns and dramatic shadows. He records the important basic labor, like caring for adobe walls, that was often assigned to Hispanic peoples in the West.
