Label TextCharles and Nancy Russell observed Christmas with great joy. In this page from a letter, Russell told friend and artist Philip R. Goodwin about their holiday dinner. The letter features a delightful drawing that depicts the sculpture Russell made for a table decoration. He modeled a Laplander in a sled pulled by a reindeer. He used wax and other materials, including salt and diamond dust for the snow. Russell’s sculpture survived and is now in the holdings of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Cody, Wyoming. For discussion, how will you decorate for the holidays?
