DescriptionClassic pattern, Moki Cross. Yarn colors are red, navy, green, white and yellow.Label TextThis blanket shows a change in weaving designs with new materials. It is a hybrid of classic serape and eyedazzler styles. A primary design element is the serrated diamond. That jagged-edged shape comes from Mexican serapes. The weaver of this blanket had access to manufactured yarns with vivid colors from chemical dyes. The weaver used the yarn to outline the edges of the diamonds with a contrasting color. That creates a visual vibrating effect. Later weavers would create elaborate patterns with intense colors known as eyedazzlers. The exhibit of southwestern weavings in the Lobby includes an array of weavings with serrated diamonds.
