Label TextGaspard depicts Taos Pueblo on San Geronimo Feast day in this work. This day occurs annually on September 30. It combines religious significance and social aspects. Gaspard emphasizes the social gatherings that are part of the event. The central figures wear feathered headdresses associated with Plains Indians while the man in the front at right wears a hat typical of the Apache. People from various tribal nations came together at such fiestas and exchanged customs and ideas.
