Label Text"Aug. 23rd.... At 5 o'clock P. M. we reached Fort Frances, so named after the sister of Lady Simpson." Kane, Wanderings, Chapter XXV The fort was named after Lady Frances Simpson, wife of Sir George Simpson of the Hudson's Bay Trader's Company.
