Label TextThe painting depicts the many visitors who came to Taos Pueblo for a feast day. It represents the Feast Day of San Geronimo observed in Taos on September 30. This and other celebrations of patron saints were brought to the pueblos by The Roman Catholic Church. The fiestas combine elements of the Catholic and Pueblo spiritual traditions.
