Label Text:Russell enjoyed friendships with several other artists. In this letter to artist Phillip R. Goodwin, Russell asked about fellow artist William Herbert Dunton. Russell mentioned that he had a calendar with a Dunton illustration on it. He said that there was no name on it but he was sure it was Dunton’s. He recognized Dunton’s style in depicting a tenderfoot (an inexperienced person) on a pitching bronco.
