Label TextThe front of this pattern plate has hand written instructions. They begin “Keep this plate like the copy . . . .” On the reverse of this pattern plate is a signature, presumably by the colorist: Mary Tallon. Several pattern plates, including one for The Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America, have Tallon’s name. The only biographical information on Tallon is an address, 1132 S. 11th Street, Philadelphia.
