DescriptionThree panels all framed together.
Label TextThis painting depicts a Jewish village in pre-revolutionary Russia. A group of fiddlers is followed by the curious children. A Talmud teacher ignores the commotion. The goats possibly allude to the Passover folk story “Tale of a Kid.” Leon Gaspard (born Leiba Schulman) painted this scene from his childhood memories.
