Label TextThis sheet shows the results obtained by printing the carved green block, which is adjacent to this proof. This green color provided a base for the foliage along the road and on the mountain. For the actual print, Baumann printed each color on a single piece of
paper. Sometimes he planned to overprint one color over another, creating a new color. To see an image of the final work, go to the Stark Museum of Art website, starkmuseum.org. Under the tab Explore, use Search the Collections. Enter “Bound for Taos” in the Search box. Images of Baumann’s initial sketch, other blocks, proofs, and the final print will result.
