Label TextPattern plates were guides for the colorists. The individual colorists who worked in printmaking firms were usually anonymous. Many of them may have been women. The inscription on the reverse of this plate is likely the signature of the colorist: Amanda Sherwell. Her name appears on other plates. She has a middle initial, possibly S. or E. Her last name could be Shewell.
