DescriptionThe Pony Express.Label Text“The Pony Express was a dramatic example of American enterprise. With the Gold Rush in full swing, there was a demand for swift mail service between the Middle and the Far West. The Pony Express carried the U.S. Mails and private dispatches from St. Joseph, Missouri to San Francisco in the incredible time of ten days. The route traversed the entire breadth of Nevada. Carson City, now the capital of the state, was one of its main stopping points.” Sidney Waugh
