Label TextBorn in Maryland, Robert Jenkins Onderdonk studied art in New York. He moved to San Antonio, Texas, in 1879 and established a career as a landscape and portrait painter. He also taught art. His son Julian Onderdonk followed in his father’s footsteps as an artist.
