DescriptionVertical painting of an interior space with a table at center with a bowl of fruit, a glass goblet, and a candlestick sitting on the surface. A chandelier hangs above the table and a red rug occupies the floor in front of the table. Along the wall behind the table is a china cabinet with shelves of dishes and serving ware, many of which are blue.
Label TextYoung-Hunter’s depicted a view of a dining room in a New Mexican home. The setting is both rustic and sophisticated. The carved wooden table is the focal point. Against the back wall, a cabinet holds many plates, ready for use, and other vessels, perhaps souvenirs from world travels. On the table is an arrangement of flowers/fruit in a bowl with a single piece that has fallen away. Flanking the bowl are a solitary goblet and a candlestick with a half-burned candle. There are no chairs for seating. The setting of the table creates a melancholy feeling within the elegance of this interior.
