Label TextIn Yucca, Todd Walker began with a photographic image. He made a close-up of the radiating, spiky leaves of the yucca, a desert plant. Walker said, “For me, the image from the camera needs to be transformed into a picture.” He changed this work by printing the photo as a lithograph. “With printmaking methods I was able to use areas or blocks of color integrated by the image.” In this print, he manipulated the color and surface texture to create a dynamic burst of energy and abstraction.
