Label TextBrothers Keelronn and Charles Hatley are Champion Calf Ropers. They also are co-owners of a roofing business, but maintain a passion for rodeo. Keelronn said, “I was actually born into doing this. My parents had horses and cows before I was ever born. . . . As early as I can remember I was toting a rope. . . .Being a Black cowboy today means being able to keep that tradition, that vibe going of the African American cowboy. . . . That’s why it means so much to me; that’s the reason I still do it. The love for it.”
