Label TextThe Klamath people live in the Klamath Basin region, present day Oregon. A Klamath weaver made this basket for storage or cooking. The weaver used the Klamath method of twining and made elevated bands to enhance the design. Basket weaving continues today among Klamath. Spring is the time for gathering the plants from the land. After drying them, winter is the season of weaving.
