Label TextBlakelock used orange in his painting of a sunset to create a romantic landscape. The intensity of the orange sun and its strip of orange light create a yellow-golden aura. The trees and the land then are dark and impenetrable. The pond, with its reflection of light and that orange sun, offers a little respite, but the painting remains moody and melancholy.
