DescriptionCaricature of C.M. Russell.Label TextRussell drew a caricature of himself in this New Year’s greeting to the family of Joe Scheuerle. Scheuerle was a Chicago artist who came west to paint Indian portraits. He and Russell became friends and traded pictures of themselves, which they intended as lighthearted greetings. The back of the card has a hand written message: (We) Russell people wish the Scheuerle tribe all the good things that are coming. Chas. and Nancy Russell.
