Label Text"Made a portage across the spit, and by the eveing reached I-en-nus, a Clallum village or fort.... Their chief, Yates-sut-soot, received me with great cordiality... Yates-sut-soot was very apprehensive of an attack from the Macaw Indians, and believing my powers and influence as a medecine-man to be of much importance, eagerly asked me which side I would take, in the event of their coming.
