Label TextIn this painting Gaspard shows Apaches traveling to Christmas dances at Taos, New Mexico. His bright color scheme and lively composition add vibrancy to the depiction. When Gaspard created this piece, visitors commonly arrived at the fiesta in automobiles. Showing travel by horseback and wagons, the artist places the scene in a romantic past.
