Label TextIn this etching, Bonner portrayed the cowboy roping the steer. Then he wrestles him to the ground by his horns. Roping was a skill used by the working cowboy. It evolved into rodeo events of calf roping and team roping. Bonner’s combining of roping and wrestling under the title Bulldogging indicates that she found inspiration in rodeo events. After studying in Paris, she also exhibited her work. She brought the cowboy again to Europe.
