Label TextHokeah often portrayed ceremonial figures for the portfolio Kiowa Indian Art. C. Szwedzicki printed the work at his firm in Nice, France. He used the method of pochoir for Kiowa Indian Art. Pochoir was a refined type of stenciling. The printmaking firm cut stencils, usually of thin metal, for each color. Colorists painted opaque watercolor to the paper using a stencil. The colorists applied each color separately until the print matched the original painting. They repeated the process to make multiple prints. The edition size of this portfolio was 750 sets of thirty prints.
