Label TextThe Skokomish woman in this picture wears a woven blanket of plant fiber. In Volume Nine Curtis covered the Salishan tribes of the coast. The volume included the Chimakum and the Quilliute, as well as the Willapa. Curtis identified the Skokomish as a band of the Twana. They were a Salishan tribe. Curtis located them on “Annas bay and the watershed of the Skokomish river” in Washington State.
