Label TextSheila Pinkel described her path to making this work. “In 1973, I became fascinated by the possibility of using light phenomena to make images without using a camera or an enlarger.” She used X-Rays to make an image directly from an object, like the two shrink-wrapped fish. From the resulting print, she made a digital version. Pinkel then made another print using an ink jet printer, archival paper, and inks. The artist chose the color blue “because doctors like the color blue.” Connect with Mark Catesby’s, The Tang and The Yellow Fish.
