Label TextKane made many portraits of Indians. He often expressed admiration for his subjects, but also could be patronizing. "Potika-poo-tis, the 'Little Round Man,' as Assiniboine chief, sat for me. He was well know about the fort, and was commonly called the Duke of Wellington.
