DescriptionThe illustration is of long-horned sheep on rocky ledge.Label TextRussell drew a small sketch of two big horned sheep fighting. His drawing evoked a scene artist Philip R. Goodwin might have seen on his summer trip. Goodwin went on a horseback ride and stayed at a ranch in the Canadian Rockies. He wanted to see big game such as the mountain sheep and goats. Russell understood the pull of that wilderness. He also encouraged Goodwin to visit him again in Montana.
