Label TextSteinke painted a scene representing a ceremonial dance on Feast Day at Santa Clara Pueblo. Her low viewpoint abstracts the lines of dancers. She gave enough detail to appear authentic, while making an image that could be a memory of the event. Steinke, best known for her thoughtful portraiture, included many images of Puebloan people in her work.
