Label TextTo create a wood block print, Baumann carved the design into wood blocks. He carved a separate block for each color. Baumann then printed each color block on a piece of paper. The final print is the result of the planned mix of colors. Baumann wrote about Taos, the subject of this print. “For a good many Artists TAOS was the magic word that brought them to New Mexico. Its tri-lingual culture and landscape that lent itself to interpretations make a profound impression on the newcomer.”
