Fechin painted a scene of the garden at Joseph Henry Sharp’s Taos home. He depicted the floral garden as seen through a veil of aspen trees. Fechin’s impressionistic style represented the flowers as strokes of color. Sharp and his wife Louise grew a profusion of flowers including iris, phlox, and hollyhocks.
