Label TextFechin’s painting of a log cabin presents the dwelling as a rough and basic shelter. It occupies the space of the painting, so it commands attention. The artist’s bold brushstrokes give life to the composition, but the house seems deserted. This cabin served its purpose as living quarters, but the occupants have moved on.
