Label TextIn addition to his paintings of the Indians and the landscapes, Kane also sketched the wildlife he encountered, especially the buffalo. His interest in wildlife was not a scientific one such as the approach taken by Audubon, but Kane saw the wildlife either as part of the natural environment or related to Indian culture.
