Label TextMiller was the gardener of the Chelsea Physic Garden in London, England. The garden originated to provide examples of useful plants. Miller wrote a book with practical advice on growing plants. His work, The Gardener’s Dictionary, had few illustrations, however. Seeing plants is important in understanding them. Thus, Miller produced a volume of illustrations. He had artists make three hundred pictures of plants from the dictionary. The Gorteria rigens today has the scientific name of Gazania rigens. Its common name is the treasure flower, and it is part of the daisy family. Its color can be yellow, gold, or orange-yellow.
