Label Text:William Clift’s photograph presents a study of stark simplicity. Clift photographed Georgia O’Keeffe in black and white at her home in Abiquiu, New Mexico. He portrayed the revered artist toward the end of her life. His composition adds to the aura of dignity. Clift’s image echoes the aesthetics of his subject.
