Label TextFred Whitfield is a World Champion Calf Roper. He won the PRCA world title in tie-down roping seven years, and he also has won the PRCA All-Around Cowboy title. With a co-author, Whitfield has written his autobiography, Gold Buckles Don’t Lie: The Untold Story of Fred Whitfield. He is from Hockley, Texas. Abe Morris wrote, “There is no doubt that Whitfield is considered to be one of the greatest tie-down ropers of all time. Many rodeo aficionados considered him to be the best ever.”
