Label TextRussell sketched a quick outline with pen and ink. To make shadows, he used hatching, or close parallel lines. This drawing came to the Stark Museum of Art with a collection of letters Russell sent to artist Philip R. Goodwin. Russell might have sent it to Goodwin as a souvenir of their sketching trips together.
