Label TextRemington worked closely with the foundries that cast his sculptures into bronze. He wanted the best work possible. From his home and studio in New Rochelle, New York, the artist corresponded with Riccardo Bertelli, the owner of Roman Bronze Works in Brooklyn, New York. Remington consistently misspelled Bertelli’s name. Bertelli and the workers at his foundry cast most of Remington’s bronzes, using the lost wax method. In this letter, Remington asked Bertelli to come see his model for a sculpture. The artist wanted advice on how much detail to complete. He also wanted Bertelli to arrange a box for shipping the model.
